“#3. I didn’t know a book could do that.” I love this. You’ve given me a more efficient shorthand for my reading log and a reminder of why I need to keep seeking books that stretch my ideas of what is possible.
I am a morning pages person, for sure. I also try to regularly enroll in small writing courses to keep my mind exploring and feeling out my writing edges. A good woods walk always gives me space to open up for creating.
Permission slip Books is my new favorite term! I was just talking with my daughter about how much I loved unexpected endings and writings that faced dark things instead of running from them. I think it is precisely this. They gave me permission to step into hard things and face them.
Yes to #5amwritersclub, but I also find that listening to audiobooks, author interviews, or even nothing (silence and ambient noise) when I’m driving or walking helps to fill the well and hopefully keeps my subconscious connected with my WIPs.
I write in the early morning but find it very hard to turn on the creative side of my brain later in the day and during my day job. I have joined a writing group this year that meets virtually during twice per week. I love that I can get in another hour or two each week that way. But I need to do a better job of channeling that creativity on a regular basis. Thanks for these suggestions!
Reading Books & this is a great way to restore & maintain our memory

It makes for such a cool reading experience, too, doesn't it?

And I love seeing your photos of nature--I can see how inspiring that must be. Thank you!

I love that idea, Sarah. Silence especially.

It is so hard. Your writing group sounds amazing.
I am so very proud of you Penny. All the dedication to writing is a gift.
Love always
